The Mazda 787B poster celebrates the only Japanese car, and the only rotary-engined entry, ever to win the 24 Hours of Le Mans outright. Powered by a screaming 700 hp four-rotor R26B engine, the orange-and-green Renown livery announced its presence audibly long before it appeared on the horizon.

Volker Weidler, Johnny Herbert and Bertrand Gachot took the chequered flag in 1991, ending Mazda's quest and writing one of endurance racing's most singular chapters. The 787B's wail at full chat remains one of the most recognisable sounds in motorsport history.
